Mary was born in 1846. She is the daughter of John Norris and Mary Dean.
Mary was born a twin with a sister named Martha Norris. Martha died as an infant aged 6 months old. [1] [2]
Mary and Martha were the first babies to be baptised at the St John's Church in Wakefield. [3]
St John's Wakefield formerly known as Waimea South, was built in 1846 and is the second oldest surviving church in New Zealand after Christ Church, Russell. [4]
On August 9, 1865, Mary married John Langman at St. Thomas's Church in Motueka, Nelson. They were married by Rev. S. Poole, M.A. Mary is recorded as being a minor on the marriage registry, which at the time meant she was under the age of 21 years. [5] [6] [7]
In 1867, John and Mary had a son. John William Langman was born in Waimea South, Nelson. [8]
Shortly after his birth, Mary and John William moved to New Plymouth rejoin with John. [9]
On September 2, 1868, John and Mary had a daughter. Mary Elizabeth Langman was born in New Plymouth. [10]
In 1870, John and Mary had a second daughter, Edith Louisa Langman. [11]
On February 28, 1872, John and Mary had a third daughter, Florence Caroline Langman. [12] [13]
In 1874, John and Mary had a fourth daughter, Maude Emily Langman. [14]
In 1875, John and Mary had a fifth daughter, Caroline Langman. [15]
In 1877, John and Mary had a second son, their seventh child, Percy Langman. [16]
In 1878, John and Mary had a sixth daughter, Annie Eliza Langman. [17]
In 1880, John and Mary had a third son James Norris Langman. [18]
In 1882, John and Mary had a seventh daughter, Beatrice Harriet Langman. [19]
In 1884, John and Mary had an eighth daughter, Ethel Langman. [20]
Mary passed away in the New Plymouth hospital on July 22, 1918. [21] [22]
Her funeral left her residence on Devon Street East for the Te Henui cemetery at 1:30pm on Wednesday, July 24, 1918. [23] [24] [25]
Mary (Norris) Langman is interred with her husband John Langman at Te Henui Cemetery in New Plymouth in the Anglican section, Row 10 - Lot 7, Plot 2 [26]

There is a sticking point on the birth date. I am working with 1846 on the understanding that is when the St. John's church was built according to NZ historical places records. Her birth is not recorded with BDM NZ.
