Victoria A NORRIS was born 19 Feb 1846 in Rushville, Buchanan Co., Missouri, USA. She is the daughter of John Norris and Mary Unknown.

Victoria died 14 Sep 1885 in Rushville, Buchanan Co., Missouri, United States.

Victoria was expecting a child when her husband, Jackson Hurst was involved in an altercation that got out of hand. He died of his injuries, as did his brother, Sinclair Hurst. An inquest was held and a trial was brought against Claiborne Jones in May of 1871. There was some controversity in that, the State felt there may have been some conspiracy among several involved in the altercation to coordinate their stories of what happened. A jury deliberated for twenty minutes and found Claiborne Jones not guilty on the charges of second degree murder. By this time, Victoria had a seven month old baby girl by the name of Leona.
