When Eunice Lane worked at GE, she met
Ronald Reagan when he was touring the country as the General Electric spokesman. In 1962, Reagan was fired by General Electric. He had referred to Tennessee Valley Authority as one of the problems of "big government". This comment was the primary reason Reagan was fired as Tennessee Valley Authority was one of General Electric's biggest customers. General Electric was and remains the largest equipment supplier to the Tennessee Valley Authority and most other United States electricity producers.

Eunice went back to school and became an RN. She worked at the Rutherford, Tennessee hospital then for Urologist-Dr. Knight
Eunice would take her grandkids fishing on her family’s pond. After catching many catfish, Eunice would give the buckets to locals.
She is buried in Washington and Smith Cemetery, Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. [8]

MURFREESBORO
Services for Eunice Norris Lane, a retired Murfreesboro nurse, will be at 11 a.m. today at Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane died Sunday in St. Thomas Hospital after a long bout with cancer.
Survivors include her husband, Avent Lane, Murfreesboro; three sons, Avent E, Howard (Buster) and Scott Lane, all of Murfreesboro; a daughter, Mrs. Glen (Lynda) Paschel, Chattanooga; five brothers, Al S., Charles, and Thomas H. Norris, all of Nashville, Cloe B. Norris, Morris, Ala, and Raymond E. Norris, Memphis; and nine grandchildren.
