Biography

Helen, the daughter of George Marling Norsworthy (1886-1962) and Mary Ivo Ann Dillow(1887-1965), was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois around 1910.[1][2] Her siblings included:

  1. Rev. George Horace Norsworthy (1908-1996)
  2. Mary Lucille Norsworthy (1911-1995)

Helen first married Lyle R. Nelson (1904-1968) in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 29, 1928.[3] He was 23 and a machinist; she was 18 and a factory worker. They had one child, Gwendolyn Marie (1929-2004).

She next married Forrest Lee Cummings (), marrying in Indiana on December 24, 1936 and divorcing on December 11, 1944.[4]

She next married Floyd Spencer Thompson, marrying in Marshall, Michigan on March 21, 1947[5] and divorcing less than a year later on February 2, 1948.[6]

She then married Floyd E. Scantlen, marrying in Emmett Township, in Calhoun County, Michigan on February 8, 1950.[7]

She then married Clair Moody in Marshall, Michigan on September 29, 1951.[8]

She passed away in Tucson, Arizona, separated from Clair Moody, in 1983; she is buried at Hicks Cemetery in Pennfield, Michigan.[9]
