According to the Visitations of Nottinghamshire, the father of Roger North merchant haberdasher of London, was Roger North of Walkeringham, not Thomas [1].
His father is given in the Visitations as being also Roger of Walkeringham, not Robert North of Kirtling in Cambridge. Evidence is needed to support this purported lineage.
The Kirtling estates in Cambridge came into the hand of this North family in the 1500s when they were acquired by Edward North, 1st Lord North.
