Biography

William was a miner who was born in 1841 in Cornwall, England. He was the son of Samuel Northey and Honour Boundy. ^[1]

He first married Ann Clyma Oates in 1866. ^[2] They had one daughter, Honor Kazia Juliette Northey, who was born in May 1867.

A month later, Ann traveled to the U.S. with their infant daughter. ^[3] Ann passed away later that year in Nevada.

William was reunited with his daughter by 1871, and they were living in Kea with his mother. ^[4]

He remarried Ellen Martha Moore in December 1872 in Truro, Cornwall, England. ^[5] The couple had 5 children: Ethel Ellen Northey, Samuel Henry Northey, Sidney Moore Northey, William Percy Northey, and Howard Stanley Northey.

In 1891, Ellen was living with their children while William was working in South Africa. ^[6]

They were living in Wadebridge at the time of the 1901 census. ^[7]

William passed away later that year at the age of 59. ^[8]
