Margaret was born between 1831[1]-1836[2] in New York.
She was the stepmother of Civil War soldier Charles Stanton who was wounded and captured by Confederate forces at the Second Battle of Fort Wagner while serving with the famous 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry. Her stepson made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom of all.
