Richard was born in about 1596 in Sharpenhoe, Bedfordshire. He was the son of William Norton and Dionisia (Cholmeley) Norton.
(i) Richard Norton, citizen and fishmonger of London; (ii) Lettice Cheyne, widow of Robert Cheyne of Bramhanger [Bramingham?], Luton; Gravely Norton of Stotfold, esquire; Thomas Rotherham of Offley [Hertfordshire], esquire; Richard Challenor, citizen and fishmonger of London
Marriage intended between (i) and Lettice Cheyne, both with children from previous marriages
To use of (i) and Lettice for their lives, remainder to right heirs of (i) (a) messuage in Streatley in occupation of Henry Williams and close adjoining (i) covenanted not to meddle with the manor, lordships or farms of Bramhanger or Woodcroft other than with the possession of the capital messuage with the grounds called The Warren (100 acres) during the minority of Lettice's eldest son Thomas. Covenants not to interfere with each other's estates Date 5 Feb 1633 [1634].
