John was born in 1740. He is the son of John Norton and Hepsibah Coffin.
427. JOHN NORTON, (John,4-3 Joseph,2 Nicholas1), b. 18 Mch. 1740 and known as John "Tertia"; res. E., but rem. with his parents to Hebron, Conn. abt. 1774; later to Conway, Mass. 1782 and lastly to Easton, N. Y. abt. 1790, where he d. 6 Mch. 1825. An obituary notice of him, prepared by Judge James Gibbon of Poultney, Vt. was published shortly after his death. He m. JANE SMITH (435) 25 Mch. 1761, who was b. 16 Feb. 1742 and d. 10 Feb. 1809.
