Biography

Anna was born 13 February 1811. POB in multiple census records is North Carolina, her parents were both born in NC., she was married in NC. and her parents' FAG bios state that all their children were born in NC. However, FAG info is that she was born in VA. Suggestion has been made to change.

She was the daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Dennis) Norton.

09 April 1831--Stokes, Pitt Co., North Carolina, Anna Norton and Temple Stanley were married.

25 SEP 1950--At the age of 39, Anna Stanley, her husband, three sons and three daughters resided in Greensboro, Henry Co., Indiana where Temple was a farmer. Also in his home is Abigail Stanley, aged 61. One might presume that is her mother-in-law. Although the census record shows POB for the three adults to be South Carolina, records seem to indicate that it was actually North Carolina.

07 July 1860--Anna was 49, living in Richland, Jasper, Iowa with Temple, a farmer, three sons and three daughters.

07 July 1870--The Stanley family, with three of the eight children, were still living in Richland, with Jason helping on the farm.

08 July 1880--Temple and "Annie" Stanley resided in Kellogg, Jasper Co., Iowa, where Temple was a gardener. Both 69 and born in NC.

Anna passed away 23 Jul 1883, at the age of 72, in Davis County, Iowa. BURIAL Our Silent City Cemetery Kellogg, Jasper County, Iowa,
