Her parents have not been verified.

[Strafford Historical Society records note "Dinah Norton (no birth date given), child of Zerah Norton (1763-1840) and either Ruth (Chamberlin), who died 6-6-1796, or his 2nd wife, Betty (Newman) whom he married 9-11-1796. Dinah was the granddaughter of Elihu and Dinah (Snow) Norton. She married Ichabod Rich in Strafford 12-31-1823". (no source was provided) (based on birth, her mother is Betty Newman)]

The family of Elihu Norton had lived in Strafford, but many had moved to New York before her birth. A connection to his children hasn't been found, however, there are ties, as might be expected.

1880 Ashtabula, Ohio Dinah (Norton) Rich is seen living with her daughter Rosella it States her place of birth as VT and her parents place of birth Connecticut.

She died in Michigan, likely lived with her grandson William Rich there until her death.
