Biography
Jabez was born in 1843. He was the son of Nehemiah Norton and Permelia Rice. He passed away in 1912.
The 1850 United States census records: Nehemiah (35) and Pamelia (27) with children Elizabeth (11), Jabez (9), Benjamin (6), Martha (4), and Milley (2) are living in Subdivision 65, Newton, Georgia. Nehemiah is a farmer. [1]
The 1860 United States census records: N (52) and Permelia (32) with children Elizabeth (20), Jabus (19), Benjamin (16), Matthew (12), Mary J (10), Nancy (8), Milder (6), Preston (5), and Offie A (2) are living in the Lithonia District, DeKalb, Georgia. [2]
