Biography

Caleb Norwood was born in Gloucester, in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, in 1736. ^[1] The names of his parents were not recorded.

The area of Gloucester where Caleb spent his life became the town of Rockport in 1840.

Caleb married Elizabeth Grover on 21 Feb 1760, at the Fifth Parish Church in the Sandy Bay community at Rockport Harbor in Gloucester.^[2]

Elizabeth Grover Norwood died on 3 Oct 1769, a the age of 27. She was buried at the Bay View Cemetery in Gloucester.^[3]

Caleb married Jerusha Story of Ipswich at the Chebacco Parish Church in Ipswich, on 19 Apr 1770.^[4]

Jerusha Story Norwood died on 15 Aug 1810, in Gloucester.^[5]

Caleb Norwood died 11 Aug 1814, in Gloucester.^[6]

Note

This profile previously showed an additional marriage, to Deborah Parsons. Because the record of Caleb's death includes information for only two wives (Elizabeth Grover and Jerusha Story), and because the Gloucester records do not indicate another marriage took place, Deborah Parsons has been removed as a third wife.
