Marjorie was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1930, the youngest child of George Washington Notley and Katie Lawrence. When she was seven years old, her father died.
In 1951, Marge married Joseph Angelo Rizzo. In 1957, Joe's work brought them to the Chicago area, where they raised their family. A favorite leisure activity during the 1960's was taking camping trips with their children in the family's 16-foot Winnebago trailer. Their son Michael Anthony Rizzo died in Illinois in 1978, at age 17.
Joe's job took them to live near Albany, New York, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They retired overlooking the Niagara River in Tonawanda, New York, a suburb of Buffalo.
After Joe died in 1991, Marge built a new life for herself that included travel, bowling in multiple local leagues, playing cards with her friends, genealogy, and watercolor painting. She was an excellent bowler who won many league trophies, and occasionally bowled a 200 game in her late 70's. She passed away in 2014.
