James Robert Nott[1] was born in 1808 in England, likely to Thomas Nott and Mary in Devon[2]. He married Mary Townsend on June 24, 1835 in Home Township, Algoma.[3] He remarried to Grace Goodwin (nee Ford) on October 19, 1860 in Huron, Ontario[4]. He passed away in 1895[5].
He appears to have married thrice: once to Mary Friend in England[12] who he had one son with, second to Mary Townsend in Ontario, then to Grace Ford after Mary's death in 1860.
