Herbert was born in 1855. He was the son of Joseph Nowell and Sarah Oldham. His birth was registered in the 1st quarter of 1855 at Macclesfield, Cheshire.^[1]

Marriage

On 17 May 1882 he married Clara Adams at Leicester, Leicestershire.^[4] The marriage was registered at Leicester in the 3rd quarter of 1882.^[5]

Death

His death was registered in the 1st quarter of 1895 at Blaby, Leicestershire.^[6] He was buried at Narborough, Leicestershire on 15 March 1895.^[7]
