David was born in 1845. He was the son of Abraham Nowell and Sarah Worth. His birth was registered in the Hunslet district of Yorkshire in the 3rd quarter of 1845.

The 1851 census lists him, age 5, at Holbeck, Yorkshire, birthplace Holbeck.[1]

His death was registered at Hunslet, Yorkshire in the 4th quarter of 1856.[2]
