His wife died two and a half months after they were married. She was a "daughter in law of the Hon. Samuel B. Sherwood of Saugatuck."

"The following obituary notice was published in the Religious Intellingencer of July 10th. - Died at Chester, Saybrook, of the pulmonary consumption, Doct. Burr Noyes aged 27 years, son of Rev. John Noyes, of Weston. He received his education at Yal College, and entered on his professional duties early in 1827... Mrs. Noyes died two months and a half after their marriage, ... a daughter in law of the Hon. Samuel B. Sherwood of Saugatuck."

"Son of Rev. Benjamin Noyes of Weston, (Northfield Soc.) Connecticut. Studied Medicine at New Haven and received the degree of M.D. in 1827. Was one year assistant to Prof. Silliman in the Chemical Department of Yale College. Commenced Practise in Chester, then a part of Saybrook, in 1828. Was married the same year to Miss Brush. who survived only about three months. He died at Chester, July 2, 1830."
