Descendant of James Nuccol who probably emigrated from England in the mid 1600s..

Amelia (Nuckolls) Ward's obituary reads as follows: "Mrs. Ward had been a professor of religion and member of the M.E. Church, South, for about twenty five years during which time she exemplified that meek and quiet spirit which is in the sight of God of great price. Her death was sudden and unexpected, but she had long been ready for the trying hour. She leaves a deeply afflicted husband and seven children, beside a large circle of friends to mourn their loss. A devoted wife, an affectionate and tender mother, a kind neighbor, in whom the poor always found a friend, and an ardent Christian, her death is mourned by all who knew her. 'Death loves a shining mark.' He found it here. May God comfort the bereaved." ^[1]
