Addison was born in 1814 in Tennessee. He died in 1889. [1]
Following Census records, it appears the following can be derived (including list of children below):
Addison was born in Tennessee about 1815; his father was from South Carolina; his mother from Virginia. He married (first) in TN about 1841 Amanda _____ who was born about 1822 in Tennessee. They had a number of children AND moved to Lawrence Co., Arkansas before Amanda died between 1860 and 1865.
NOTE: They are probably the Addison Nunn family in Williamson, Tennessee in the 1840 census. One male 20-30 (Addison); one female under 5 (Sarah); one female 15-20 (Amanda); also living with them were three female slaves-- one under 10; 2 aged between 10-24.
1830 US Census family possibilities (Williamson, TN):
-- Henry Nunn, 14 people, 13 of which were slaves (indicating he was single?)
-- Joel Nunn, 14 people, 7 of which were slaves (suggesting a family of 7?)
Addison appears to have taken his slaves with him to Piney Fork, Lawrence, Arkansas, as Addison Nunn is listed as a slaveowner in both the 1850 slave schedule (6 slaves) and in the 1860 slave schedule (12 slaves). This might explain the existence of several black Nunn families that appear in Arkansas in the 1870 census.
He married (second) in Arkansas before 1865, Mary _____, b abt 1841 in Virginia. They had many more children.

Michael, I am not related to this Nunn family, but was doing some quick research for someone who posted a g2g question about a possible relative to this family (See Cora's profile for a link to the question.) Thought as long as I was looking at census records, I'd add what I found here. In any case, it looks like Addison Nunn came from Williamson Co., TN, so you might look there for his origins.
