Biography

Mary was born in 1840^[1] and baptised in Blacktoft, Yorkshire, England.^[2] She lived with her parents, Robert Nurse and Ann White, in Eastrington, Yorkshire.^[3][4]

In 1871 Mary married William Jackson.^[5] The family lived in Eastofts, Yorkshire, at the time of the 1871 census,^[6] but by 1881 they had moved to Amcotts, Lincolnshire. William was a farm bailiff.^[7]

In 1901 Mary was a boarding house keeper in Goole, Yorkshire, where she lived with two of her children, her sister Hannah, and a boarder.^[8] At the time of the 1911 census Mary was visiting Solomon and Agnes Amos in Barrow in Furness, Lancashire.^[9]
