Biography

Margaret L O'Bannon was born on 25 July 1842^{[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13]} in Newark, Licking County, Ohio, United States^{[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][12]}. She was the daughter of William O'Bannon^[1][2][12] and Ellen S Snell^[1][2][12].

Margaret married Leonidas Marshall Bennett^{[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][12][14][15]} on 21 November 1863^[1][8][9].

Margaret and Leonidas had 3 children: Ellen/Ella "Nellie" O'Bannon (Bennett) Leonard^{[3][4][5][8][9][16][17][18]}, Willie Bennett^[19], and Clara H (Bennett) Stephenson^{[4][5][12][20][21][22][23]}. On the 1900 census Margaret is shown as the mother of 3 children, 2 living and on the 1910 census Margaret is shown as the mother of 4 children, 3 living. There is no proof that Willie Bennett is one of their children, but given the DOB/DOD, name and cemetery location, it seems pretty likely. The existence of a 4th child is less clear.
