Delayed registration of birth record at the Nova Scotia Archives: Ralph Russell O'Brien, Male, was born in South Rawdon, Hants County on 7 December 1901. His father was James A. O'Brien, a Farmer, living and born in South Rawdon, now residing in Scotch Village. His mother was Hattie M. Dimock. The application was made by Ralph R. O'Brien, who was living in Scotch Village, on 12 September 1927. NOTE: The affidavit was NOT signed. Page (2) of the record, a declaration by his mother, shows that Hattie May O'Brien (Mrs. James A. O'Brien) was living in Scotch Village. The declaration was signed by Hattie May O'Brien in Scotch Village, Hants County, Nova Scotia on 28 November 1925.

His parents were James O'Brien, who was born in South Rawdon, Hants Co., and Hattie May Dimock. Ida was 21 (born about 1903), a Spinster, living and born in Centre Rawdon, Hants Co. Her parents were Judson Mason, who was born in Centre Rawdon, Hants Co., and Minnie Williams.

Ralph and Ida both died in 1984 and their remains were buried in the South Rawdon United Church Cemetery
