King of Thomond from 1461-1466.
Teige an-Chomhaid; meaning Teige of the Castle of Chomhad, which was in Burren, in west county Clare, which Teige erected in 1459 in his father's lifetime. His father was Turlogh Bog.
His birth year (1435) is based on birth year (1440) of his next brother Connor (d.1496). See Dictionary of Irish Biography under "Sources" below. There was also a 3rd brother Turlogh Og (d.1498), after which Teige's son Turlogh Donn (d.1528) took power.
He married Annabella Burke.
According to Cracroft's Peerage, his only daughter Margaret O'Brien married James FitzThomas FitzGerald, 8th Earl of Desmond, with no male issue.
