William O'Brien was born in 1833 at Derrylahan, near Mitchelstown, County Cork, Ireland. His parents were William O'Brien & Mary (née—) O'Brien. William O'Brien married Ellen Mannix on 23 February 1857 at Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. [1]
William and Ellen were among the pioneer settlers of the Hinton area (near Morpath) of New South Wales. William farmed 20 acres near Hinton for about 30 years, leaving the farm after the record flood of 1893.
William O'Brien age 71, passed away on 01 October 1904 at West Maitland, New South Wales, Australia. [2]
