Biography

Edward Dominic O'Brien born about 1735 at Drogheda, son of Capt James and Mary (Jephson) O'Brien. [1]

He attended Trinity College, Dublin, served in the Royal Navy, was High Sheriff of Clare, 1758 and 1783-87 and was titled 1st Marchioness of Thomand

Edward married Mary Carrick, the daughter of a Dublin attorney.

Edward Dominic O'Brien died on 1 March 1801 at his family's estate in Rostellan, County Cork.
