Death
His son James wrote of his death on 30th May 1809 from Carhen:
"My dear Dan,
You have heard some days ago of the death of our dear father, That lamented event took place on Saturday the 27 of May about two o'clock. He suffered a great deal for the last two days though he retained his memory to the moment before he expired. His funeral was attended, of course, by all the gentlemen in the country who carried his remains to Cahir(civeen) on Monday evening.".[8][9]

Their marriage licence was issued in 1771 - http://census.nationalarchives.ie/reels/dm/IRE_DIOC_007246533_00052.pdf. Mrs Morgan O'Connell says they married at Holy Trinity in Cork, though I'm not sure it was called that in 1771. She also says that he died in 1807.
