Mary O'Connell was born in Ireland.

Mary O'Connell born 25 September 1778, daughter of Thomas, a physician and a Protestant, and Ellen (Tuohy) O'Connell. [1]

Mary O'Connell married in Dublin on 24 July 1802 to Daniel O'Connell, Liberator of Ireland, her third cousin.

Children: all the sons were members of Parliament:[2]

  1. Maurice b 1803
  2. Morgan b 1804
  3. Ellen 1805-1883
  4. Catherine b 1808 married Charles O'Connell of Iveragh and Ballynablown, county Kerry.
  5. Elizabeth b 1810 married Nicholas Joseph ffrench of ffrench Lawn, county Roscommon
  6. John b 1810
  7. Rickarda b 1815
  8. Daniel b 1816

Mary died 13 Oct 1836. [3]
