Michael Madden, Anthony O'Connor (of the firm of Wrixon and O'Connor, solicitors), fourth son of the late Anthony O'Connor, Esq., of Mallow, county Cork, Ireland, to Jane Mary Agnes, second daughter of the late John De Vere Hunt, Esq., of Hunt's Grove, county Tipperary, Ireland.

(1871). Mr. Anthony O'Connor, the solicitor, who was mentioned as having been arrested for lunacy, was taken before the City Bench yesterday, and a certificate of his insanity, signed by the two medical men who had examined him, was handed in. The old man anxiously impressed upon the Bench that he had cases in the Supreme and County Courts involving thousands of pounds, and which would fall through if he could not attend. He therefore asked to have the charge of lunacy, which he said arose out of a conspiracy, remanded till next day, and said he could find bail to any amount. He then leant over to a stranger who happened to be in court, and asked if he would go bail in £50 for his appearance next day. The stranger, seeing how the case stood, nodded, and the Bench, humouring the poor old attorney's fancies, got him removed into the watchhouse, and ordered him to be sent to the Yarra Bend Asylum.
