McNICHOLL - O'CONNOR - On the 3rd July at St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, by the Rev. Father Gallagher, Bernard, fourth son of the late Bernard McNicholl Banagher, County Derry, Ireland to Margaret Teresa (Maggie), eldest daughter of the late Daniel O'Connor of Cloughfin, County Sligo, Ireland.
Bernard passed away in 1924.
Widow Margaret McNicholl married Michael McSteen in 1925 in Victoria. [3]
In the 1920s until the 1950s they lived at 196 Brunswick St, Fitzroy, Victoria and were hotel keepers (Licensed Victuallers). [4]
In the early 1920s the McSteen couple took in Kathleen Tottle when her mother was terminally ill and after her father passed away in 1920.
In 1935 Mrs Margaret McSteen (52) and Kathleen Tottle (17) student went to England and Ireland. They arrived in London, England on board SS Oronsay on 14 February 1935 and were going to (I.F.S.) Cloughfin, Colloorey, County Sligo, Ireland. [5] They departed London bound for Melbourne on board SS Orsova (Orient Line) on 25 May 1935. [6]
She passed away in 1955 [7][8] and was buried at the Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery. [9][10]
McSTEEN - On November 23, Margaret Teresa, dearly loved wife of the late Michael McSteen, of the Perseverance Hotel, Brunswick street, Fitzroy, loved mother of John and Mary, grandmother of David. -Requiescat in pace.

McSTEEN. — Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of the late Mrs. MARGARET TERESA McSTEEN will be celebrated at St. Patrick's Cathedral THIS DAY (Friday), at 9.30 a.m. The Funeral will leave the Cathedral at the conclusion of the Mass for the Coburg Cemetery
