Biography

Ruth O'Dell is the descendant of Palatine migrants.

Ruth Lydia O'Dell was born in 1923.[1] She is the daughter of William Odell and Ida Mattice. She worked as an executive secretary at Eastman Kodak in Rochester, Monroe County, New York.

She never married.

She passed away in 2005 [2] and is buried in the Woodland Cemetery, Delhi, Delaware County, New York. [3]

Memories

Aunt Ruth was one of my favorite aunts. She had her favorite nieces and nephews as well. She took me a few times to stay with her, at her apartment in Rochester, where we spent time with her boyfriend and friends, went to the beach, etc. After I started college, she sometimes picked me up at school or dropped me off at school around the holidays. Later in life, she wrote me long, complex, sometimes confusing letters about a variety of topics she was interested in.
