He married Thomasina O'Grady, daughter of Gerald de Courcy O'Grady and Anne Wise, in May 1843. They had eight children.
He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) He was a practising Barrister-at-Law. He lived at Landscape, County Clare, Ireland.
In 1861 he was age 49 and living in Rugby, Warwickshire with his family and his occupation was Landed Proprietor.
