Carroll County Deed Book 24, folios 464-466, recorded 3 November 1858: On 15 October 1858, John Eslep (Eastep, Estep) and Mary Ann Eslep, hiswife, of Iowa (probably Ionia) County, Michigan, Margery Daugherty, widow of John Daugherty, Samuel J. Wivel and Margaret Wivel, his wife, Samuel Crawfordand Frances Crawford, his wife, and James Adelsperger and Rebecca Agnes Adelsperger, his wife, all of Carroll County conveyed a deed to James E. Dudrow. Henry O'Hara, Sr., of Frederick County in his last Will &Testement dated 15 July 1814, bequeathed to daughter, Margery, all his real estate consisting of farm in Frederick County, containing 60 acres to her andheirs of her body (conceived lawfully together in wedlock). Mary Ann Eslep,Margaret Wivell, Frances Crawford, and Rebecca Agnes Adelsperger were the lawful children. The grantors agreed to sell and convey to Dudrow for a $1625payment to the children and their spouses, and for a further payment of $50annually to Margery during her natural lifetime, to cease at her death, but anymonies due were to be paid to Samuel J. Wivell or his heirs. The land was part of "Resurvey on James Fancy" formerly in Frederick County, containing 66acres, known as "Daugherty's Place" adjoining the lands of John Erb, DavidFeeser and James E Dudrow. Margery signed with "X" all others signed with names.
