James Joseph O'Keefe was born in 1894 in Abbotsford, Colony of Victoria.^[1]

James (20) married Rosanna Ellen Smith (23) (born on December 11, 1891 in Coburg, Victoria, Australia; daughter of William Leo Smyth and Letitia Josephine (McLaughlin) Smyth) in 1915 in Coburg, Victoria.^[2] Their son was John Joseph O'Keefe (1915–~1982) [non-biological].

James died on 12 Jul 1955 in Thornbury, Victoria, Australia.^[3]
