Margaret was born on 28 August 1924 in St. Louis, Missouri as a daughter to Charles O'Keefe and Mary Fruin. To date the only available "official" document that shows this is her death certificate [1].
The engagement of Margaret and her husband to be Alfred Stephen Smeehuyzen, was announced in the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" of 16 February 1947 [2]. An undocumented source (that otherwise seems quite reliable) on internet shows they married on 17 May 1947 [3].
Margaret passed away on 15 October 1991 in St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana as shown in her death certificate [1]. The "The Indianapolis Star" [4] as well as the "The Indianapolis News" [5] published an obituary on the 16th. It was followed by a "funeral notice" the next day in the "St. Louis Post-Dispatch" [6].
She was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery there on the 18th [7].
