Born and raised in Sumner County, Tennessee. Retired engineer trying to expand on the excellent work passed down by my father.
Family lines all go back to the 1790’s and early 1800's in Sumner County, Tennessee or adjacent Allen County, Kentucky, migrating there from Virginia and the Carolina’s. Earliest arrival of a direct ancestor in the America’s was at Jamestown in 1612. Direct line also includes participants in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812, Civil War (both sides), WWII and Korean War.
Interested in the southern migration into the old Southwest as well as pre 1700 arrivals.

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.
It looks like the United States Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag United_States will help you get updates about activity for that project.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)
It happens. When creating a new person, there are many profiles on WikiTree. Prior to creating, I do a search using my anticipated dates for DOB and DOD and places to pre-check for an earlier created profile.
By the way, my Douglass family has connections to Sumner Co. Tennessee. They can be found in the work of Jay Guy Cisco's, "Historic Sumner County, Tennessee"
I am pleased to confirm you as a full member, and welcome you to the WikiTree family. Your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a name back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site.
