Sincere sympathy to the family of the late Henry O'Neil, age 77 years, son of the late James O'Neil and Ellen Brazill, of the Walker Road south, who passed away at Hotel Dieu on Tuesday, September 16th after a ten day illness. Deceased lived on the O'Neil homestead with his sister, Miss Mary O'Neil, and was one of the original team of Shamrocks, which consisted of the nine O'Neil boys. He was a bachelor. Left to mourn his loss besides his sister Mary, is another sister Kitty, Mrs. Norman Drouillard, of McGregor: his brother Alex (Sandy), of Sandwich South, and his brother Homer, of Detroit. Funeral will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock to St. Clement's Church, from Windsor Funeral Home. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery. R.I.P. Deceased was pre-deceased by his six brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Bernard, Gilbert, Alonza and Jesse and so now seven of the original Shamrocks of Sandwich South are gone to their Eternal Reward. They were a wonderful and highly respected family and the 'back bone of the original pioneers of Sandwich South. Published September 19, 1958 in the Essex Free Press.
