Jackson was born on 16 February 1845 in Florida, United States. He was the son of William Bryant Osteen and Mary Ann (Cannon) Osteen.[1]
When Jackson was about 24 he married Rachel E Carter before 1870. The couple had 8 children: Mary Ann O'Steen, David E O'Steen, Lee or Lancer O'Steen, Anastocio B O'Steen, Cora Keziah O'Steen, Noah O'Steen, Alexander O'Steen and Roy Jackson O'Steen.[1]
Jackson died at the age of 78 on 11 May 1923 and was buried in St John's, Florida. Note: Pellicer Creek Cemetery[1]
