The Valley Methodist Church was decorated with white and gold flowers last evening, when the marriage took place of Mr. Henry M. Roberts (only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Roberts, Glen Kedron), and Miss Eileen A. K. Oakes (youngest daughter of Mrs. A. Oakes, Windsor, and the late Mr. H. A. Oakes, Childers).

Rev. B. Fredericks officiated. Miss B. Fredericks presided at tho organ. The bride, who was given away by her uncle (Mr. W. Ker), wore a classical gown of white flat crepe Romain, made with a train, and girdled with hand-made leaves. She wore a cut tulle veil with a lace cap and carried a shower bouquet of roses, stephanotis, and carnations. The bridesmaid, Miss Enid Roberts (sister of the bridegroom), was frocked in eau de Nil georgette, finished with a side bow of silk velvet in a deeper shade. Georgette leaves encircled her green picture hat, and she carried an autumn toned bouquet. Mr. Owen Fletcher was best man. Later a reception was held at a city cafe, where the bride's mother received the guests wearing black mariette, with a black swagger coat and black neora straw hat. Her posy was of red roses. On leaving for the honeymoon, which will be spent at Katoomba and Sydney, the bride was frocked in green diagonal flat crepe, worn with a green swagger coat and a tagal straw hat of the same shade.^[3]

Eileen Roberts died on 13th May 1995, age 88, at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. She was buried on 17th May 1995 at Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.^[4][5]
