George was born about 1826. He married Jane Austin in 1851 in Hartford, Connecticut. Together they had a number of children.
In 1880 they were living in Shrewsbury, Montmouth, New Jersey, when he was 54 years old, and a retired hotel keeper.[1] At this point in time his sons William, 23, and Frederick, 18, were living with George and Anne, as well as their young daughter Jennie, age 6.
