Deasro Buck Oaks was born on July 19, 1835 in Mina, Chautauqua, New York, United States, son of Luke Oaks (1802–1872) and Bethia Bangs (1808–1845).[1]

Deasro (21) married Laura Ellen Fowler (20) (born on November 26, 1836 in Pownal, Bennington, Vermont, United States; daughter of Addison Draper Fowler and Fanny Horton (Pettee) Fowler) in 1857 in Illinois. Their children were:

Deasro died on April 7, 1920 in Minnehaha, South Dakota, United States, aged 84. He was buried in Hartford Cemetery, Hartford, Minnehaha County, South Dakota.[1]
