Nortons surname to-do list

Other to-do's

I come from a large, geneologically-invested family. We have groups online to discuss and keep records up to date for all descendents of Maud and Henry Oaks. They had a total of 13 children. I am descended from the youngest of those 13.

I was born in Barstow, California in 1987. I moved with my immediate family to Leesburg, Virginia in 1996. We then relocated to Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Charles Town, West Virginia, and Oak Island, North Carolina.

I was married in 2007, and relocated to Tacoma, Washington. That marriage ended in divorce, and I wound up in Southport, North Carolina. My sister, Shannon, was having twin girls, so I moved to Sterling, Virginia to be a live-in nanny for her.

In 2012, I met a wonderful man, and by 2013 we had moved in together. We were married in 2017. My husband was offered a trasfer for his job to Tokyo, Japan and we both jumped at the opportunity to experience a whole new world! We've been happily living in Tokyo ever since!

Welcome to the Connectors Project! Be sure to check out the Connectors project page to see some of what we do, our To-Do lists which have folks who need connected to our Global Tree, and please add the connectors tag to your G2G feed. We've also got a great sub-project, Connectors Chat, where we talk about what we're working on and where we'd like to help out. If you're new to making connections and want some simplified connections to work on, look at our Connecting Buddies page. Thanks for joining us!

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz, Melissa!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordinating with others is essential.

For the Norton ancestors I suggest this: Massachusetts project, part of United States History project. For a badge, sign up with the leader, Ellen Smith on g2g.

Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list, located at the top of your page, 4th topic on right, under <Find> and <Projects>.

For questions, just ask on my page.

Melissa,

Glad to have you on the Massachusetts Project of the US History Project. I see you’re already following both projects. Go ahead and add {US History|sub-project=Massachusetts} (use double { } at each end) above your bio. I don’t know if you’ve found it, but ma-vitalrecords.org is a great source for pre-1850 Massachusetts records, and archive.org has most of the vital record books that were published. Holler if you need any help. Bob

Hi Melissa

You've been a member for about a week so I thought I would check in to see how it's going. Have the How-Tos been helpful or left you with questions? Most of us have questions after all that information!

I want to help! Click my name, send me a private message or ask in the comment section of my page. Sometimes links don't work in emails. If that's happened to you, check the public comments on your profile. The links will work from there.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Messenger

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Thanks for volunteering!

You are now an active member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family.

I recommend starting with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you create your family profiles. Building your family tree on WikiTree will help you connect with others who have the same ancestors.

Need help? Just ask!

Above all, have FUN!  :) I hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have!

Kind regards,

Vicky Majewski ~ WikiTree Greeter & Member since August 2015

P.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.
