Biography

Edward Platt Oaks was born in 1866, the son of Nathan Oaks and Sarah Hemingway Oaks. He was baptized Easter Day, 16 Apr 1876. (see Church Register link below.) The sponsor or witnesses listed were: Augustus M'Cleod and Mrs. Mary Francis (Sayre) M'Cleod. The clergyman was William B. Edson, rector.

The Parish Register also recorded his marriage to Clara Louise Edic on April 16, 1902, both of Phelps, New York. He was age 35, she was age 31. They were married at the house of E.C. Edic in Phelps by the Warden of a Divinity School in Geneva, NY. - Clara was the daughter of Edward Charles Edic and Nancy Maria Edic.

He passed away at Rochester, New York in 1935.
