Mary Oates was born in Yorkshire, England.

Mary was baptised at Leeds on 15 January 1746. She was the third of ten children of George Oates and Sarah Jolley who were living at Bridggate. ^[1]

Mary was buried at Mill Hill Chapel, Leeds on 13 February 1769 aged 23. ^[2]
