Mary was born in 1833 in Cornwall.
She became a dressmaker, and in 1852 she married Nicholas Murrish. They had two children, and then sailed to Australia, where two more children were born.
Mary and the children returned to Cornwall and appear on the England Census of 1871 (her being the head of household and described as a grocer and draper) before sailing to New Zealand on the Bebington in 1876 to join her husband who was now mining in Thames.
She passed away in 1895 in Thames, New Zealand, and was buried in Shortland Cemetery in plot 3PUBL-PLOT-1063.
