Biography

Daughter of John Oesting and A. M. Elizabeth Bettenbrock Oesting. Death record claims birthdate is 1 Sep 1842 but death records of sibling and mother make it extremely likely that her birth was actually in September of 1843.

Sometime in 1860: United States Census found John "Osting", age 47, living with his family in Washington Township, Jackson, Indiana. The residents of the house were himself and wife "Julia Ann" (Juliana) "Osting" age 45, both born in Hanover; daughter Louisa "Osting" age 17, born in Ohio; son John, 15, born in Ohio; and younger son Henry "Osting", age 12, born in Ohio.^[1]

Sometime in 1870: United States Census found Louisa Oesting (BIRTHPLACE DOES NOT MATCH; may or may not be correct record) living with the Krell family. The residents of the household were Albert Krell, age 37, born in Prussia; Caroline Krell, age 23, born in Prussia; Albert Krell age 10, Nathan Krell age 9, Alexander Krell age 6, Charlie Krell age 4, and Herman Krell age 1, all born in Ohio; and Louisa Oesting age 27, born in Illinois.^[2]

Ohio death records state that Louisa Oesting, daughter of John F. Oesting, died 01 Jan 1920 in Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio, age 77, a single white storekeeper born 01 Sep 1842 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was buried 03 Jan 1920 in "Seymore" (Seymour), Indiana.^[3]
