Hi Katherine, how are things going for you now that you've had a chance to look around and add some of your family tree?

When you have a moment, you should come on over and introduce yourself in our forum thread for new members. It's a great way to meet other genealogists and share what you are working on.

Hi everyone, my name is Katherine. My father and I are very interested in our ancestry. My ancestors are all from Germany and I have a fairly large amount of information I'd love to share on this site. I also have research on the Skuthorpe family in Australia.

I think this site is a fantastic idea (partly because it's so annoying when sites try to make you pay to see your own ancestry) and I'd love to contribute. I will of course abide by all the rules. :)

I noticed you uploaded a GEDCOM. Here's a link to a great step-by-step of the process including screenshots that you might find helpful.

The help pages give lots of information about the process, best to start with 'Before you import a GEDCOM'.
