I was born in Aberdeen, have been married nearly 50 years, and now live in Edinburgh.
I have been researching the inhabitants of my street - Dalrymple Crescent, Edinburgh, in Victorian times. In 2011 I published a book, Dalrymple Crescent, A Snapshot of Victorian Edinburgh on the subject, but it is now out of print. I have put much of the information in the book into a One Place study:
|Dalrymple Crescent,
Edinburgh, Midlothian
(My brother has done the research on the Officer family)
We've put together a survey for you to fill out to check in with you, it will only take a moment as there are only a few questions. Filling out the survey lets us know you are still interested in coordinating your study and provides an opportunity for you to share any suggestions you may have for the project.
If you have decided to step away from your study, please reply to this comment to that effect.
Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches dates of profile, avoid abbreviations. Add citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources
The Scotland Project would be of interest. Adding the tag SCOTLAND will provide updates about the project.
Explore Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic. Read the goals & tasks of the project join if it fits

Thanks for your emails. Apologies for not replying sooner, but we have been away for a few days. Anyway, I should now have plenty of time to follow up your excellent suggestions
I love the website, I have sent it on to the SCOTLAND project for consideration for adding to their resource pages for Edinburgh.
I would suggest you join the SCOTLAND project and join the Edinburgh Team at some point

PPS. Please avoid the use of abbreviations as they can mean different things in different countries, always use the full words
Check out the New Member How-to pages for some quick tips on working with both the Wiki pages and our other members. There is some great information in those pages.
