Andrew was born about 1766 estimated from hi 1810 census record and the birth of his first known child. He died on 8 February 1814 in Ohio County, Virginia (now Wetzel County, West Virginia).[1]
He married twice. He and Bathsheba Jarvis were married before 1792 based on the birth date of their first known child. Andrew and Bathsheba had the following children:
Bathsheba died in 1798,[2] and Andrew married Mary Sloan shortly thereafter. Andrew and Mary had the following children:
In the 1810 census Andrew (age 26-44) was in Ohio County, Virginia, United States.[3]
Andrew was buried in Williams Cemetery, New Martinsville, Wetzel County, West Virginia, United States with a death date of 8 February 1814.[1]
Family legend shows his birth date to be about 1745 and his marriage to Bathsheba to be about 1772. If so, this indicates that Andrew and Bathsheba were married for 20 years before their first child was born. Further, this says that Andrew was 47 years old when his first known child was born (in 1792) and 69 years old when his last child was born (1814). This seems a bit old. More likely both he and Bathsheba married shortly before 1792 and both were born about 1765-70. This is more consistent with Andrew's 1810 census record (age 26-44). Without further evidence, these are the dates that have been used above.
