Grave Biography: Margaretta Ogle (b. c. 1784 - d. 20 Dec 1841), buried St Mungo Cemetery; was the daughter of Capt. William Ogle of Knockhill in 1802. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Ogle of Liverpool, Lancashire, late of St. Ann's, Westminster, and Jane Rutter. [4]

Lloyd (1908), asserts that one of the Ogles married Jane, dau. of William Rutter & Margaret Lowther, niece of Earl of Lonsdale.

William Ogle ... son of Henry and brother of Mary Humble, became a captain, and married Elizabeth Harvey and Jane Hoppat, and had a son, William, who died young, and a daughter Jane Love; also a daughter, Margaretta, married to John Bell Irving, whose grandson, of the same name, is now of Mount Annan.

Marriage

In 1802 Margaretta Ogle married John Bell-Irving. He was the son of William Bell-Irving (d. 1808). Her husband, "served in the Border Yeomanry during the Wars of Napolean.[5]
